EPB 11i Data Sheet - June 2004

Oracle Data Sheet for the product.

EPB Q&A Document From Partner Session - April 2004

Still plenty of caveats included in the document so despite the close release date everything in the document is as always 'for information purposes only'. Still lists Summer 2004 as a release date.

Gives some more of the technology stack beyond patch to Apps 11.5.9 - Applications Framework 5.10, BI Beans 3.1, Application Server 9iAS R1, 9i Database 9.2.0.5 plus OLAP option, Workflow 2.6.

Gives details of FEM schema - open interface tables for EPB meta data. Confirms some hooks are available from Oracle Workflow for customisation. EPB is integrated with Portal and allows persoalised dashboards to be built. Reports can be published by end users directly and as XML interfaces. The XML interface will allow Oracle Reports 9i integration.

Excel integration in the form of an OLAP Excel add-in is under development [we understand this in Beta release at the moment].

EPB Statement Of Direction - August 2003?

EPB to be Oracle 9i based. Gives details on main CPM features of EPB - Business Process Flows, Structure Maintenance, KPI modeling. Many pre-built reports to be available in Business Report Library. The same documents will be used for reporting and data entry. SQL query tools can be used against the OLAP data. Interface will be HTML based for speed. Emphasizes the scalability, security and resilience benefits of the Oracle 9i engine as opposed to Express. OFA/OSA licenses to convert to EPB licenses. Availability by end 2003. OFA/OSA support to end of 2006.

Migrating from OFA and OSA to EPB Whitepaper (August 2003)

Still refers to EPB being Oracle 9i R2 based. Talks a lot about Corporate Performance Management (CPM) Restates that Oracle are protecting your license investment. Confirms tools will be availble for the migration. Tools will not be provided for the following:-
RAA/RAM metadata (not supported in initial release of EPB).
Solves, Solve Groups and Copy Data profiles (restructuring around CPM and Workflow will change the way data is transformed)
Worksheets and Data Entry Forms (these will be created automatically through business processes)
Spreadsheet Add-In Queries (not supported in first release but Excel export will be)
OFA 11i (6.4.0) will receive error correction support to end 2006 and extended support to mid 2008
HTTP client is the only requirement for analysts and administrators
Software stack aligned with e-Busines suite - 9i with OLAP option plus Applications middle tier
Oracle will provide support for mapping the functional changes and educating users about these changes (viewlets)
Reduced requirement for customisation due to the new business calculation templates, allocation functionality, validation and reporting enhancements.
Should support changing business requirements more easily
